The commitment to the welfare of women and children, has been applauded by the Akwa Ibom State Government at the 25th National Council on Women Affairs and Child Development (NCWACD, held at the Festival Hall, Government House, in Benin City, Edo State.
Delivering a goodwill message at the event the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Etukudo, who led the State’s dedication, conveyed warm greetings from the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno to the Minister for Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, commending her dedication to improving the welfare of women and children nationwide.

“Akwa Ibom is an ARISE State, and we stand with the Renewed Hope initiative. We appreciate your efforts in carrying women along and look forward to welcoming you to Akwa Ibom soon,” she stated.
The Commissioner also lauded the Edo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Eugenia Abdullah, for hosting a well-coordinated and impactful council meeting.
Themed, “Strengthening Systems and Deepening Social Impact: Advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda for Women, Children, Families and Other Vulnerable Groups,” the council remains Nigeria’s foremost policy forum for advancing gender equality, child protection, and social inclusion.
The annual event attracted Commissioners, Directors, Development Partners, and key stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on strengthening social welfare systems and implementing policies that promote inclusive development in alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Key features of the gathering included, technical sessions, policy reviews, exhibitions, and interactive engagements designed to enhance collaboration among government agencies and development partners toward advancing the welfare of women, children, and other vulnerable groups across Nigeria.
