The Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Alfred Charles, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the state government’s policy on free, qualitative, and compulsory education at the primary and secondary levels.
As part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, held at the council auditorium, Hon. Charles donated over 20,000 exercise books and other educational materials to 38 primary schools across the area.
The Chairman urged headmasters and teachers to ensure fair distribution of the materials to all pupils. He encouraged the students to remain focused and diligent in their studies, stressing that “Education is not a scam,” assuring them of his administration’s dedication to securing their future through the New Dawn Nsit Ubium Education Trust Fund, designed to support students in higher institutions.
In his goodwill message, the Clan Head of Ubium, Etubom Ukpong Udoewah, expressed gratitude to Hon. Charles for the gesture and commended Governor Umo Eno for the ongoing transformation in the education sector.
