Gov Eno Gifts Wheelchair to Free Food Beneficiary in Etinan…As Residents Receive Their Supply

Date:

The compassionate disposition of Governor Umo Eno, has once again been demonstrated, when he gifted young disabled Master Usen Jones of Ikot Isong Village, in Etinan, a wheelchair during the Arise Free Food Distribution exercise, held at the council headquarters, on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Emem Ibanga, Governor Eno thanked the people of Etinan for their continued support to his administration, noting that the area has been a major beneficiary of his people-focused interventions.

“Etinan has enjoyed lofty projects ranging from road construction, model schools, model primary healthcare centres, compassionate homes, and entrepreneurial grants. My administration is inclusive; I am for you and with you. In this hall, we have the vulnerable, the elderly, and people living with disabilities. Through your support, more will come to Etinan,” he said.

The Governor reiterated the importance of enrollment in the State Social Register, stressing that only those captured are considered for government interventions, while he assured that those who missed their food items in the last distribution, would benefit in the ongoing exercise.

He further directed the Bulk Purchase Agency to prioritize the issuance of food vouchers to persons with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and nursing mothers, urging beneficiaries to remain orderly, as the food items, according to him, were sufficient for all.

Thousands of beneficiaries drawn from all the 12 wards of the area turned out eagerly to receive their food supply comprising bags of rice and beans.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Etinan Local Government Council, Hon. Uko Umoh, lauded the people-oriented initiatives of Pastor Eno, in putting smiles on the faces of residents. He pledged the council’s continued support for the Governor’s second-term bid.

Responding to the gesture, the beneficiaries, drawn from all the 12 wards of the area, who turned out eagerly to receive their food supply comprising bags of rice and beans, expressed gratitude to Governor Eno, and hailed his humane style of governance, describing him as an empathic leader.

Also present to ensure smooth coordination of the exercise, was the General Manager of the Bulk Purchase Agency, Hon. Unyime Etim, alongside the Secretary of Council, Supervisors, Councillors, and the Ward Personal Assistants, who worked collectively to guarantee a seamless and peaceful distribution.
